Updates : Blog, TEDinator(100 video limit fix), etc…

Scenario : Its been sometime that there has been a post. Also TEDinator is not working properly as it should and the developer is not responding to us. What are we supposed to do in that case ??

Solution : First of all, let me begin by providing my apologies to all those people who took the time to either comment or mail me (via about page or direct mail) that i have not been able to reply to or for that matter update my blog or provide any update to TEDinator.

I am currently between changing jobs and the place i live at….these has sort of messed a lot of things and i have to had to cope with a lot of things so i could not come up with the time to do anything….and in fact it is still going to be another month before everything can become normal, methinks.

Now apart from this, the other reason i was not updating TEDinator was that i was planning and, have in fact, begun work on a new version which would automate everything and make the whole affair a lot smoother for the user, that is you, and i wanted to introduce the fix with that version but unfortunately, i have not been able to complete the version, So i am providing you with a fix for the “100 Videos” limit issue.

Remove Ads from Utorrent

Scenario : You fire up uTorrent to download torrents. Its a free utility and you like using it but now it comes loaded with all this crap ads and you don’t like it….so what do you do about it ??

Solution : uTorrent is one of the best torrent clients out there, if you ask me but nowadays (actually since sometime now)…it has started to load all this annoying ads (See below). Here’s a way to turn it off….

Batman Arkham City qa_approved_build _january_2011 Error : An Encore

Scenario contd… : You have obtained the highly anticipated game : Batman Arkham City. It is over 14 GB’s in Size. You have fiiiiiiiiiinally downloaded it. You install it…which takes a looooooooooong time. Finally it’s done!!!! Now you try to run it…and what’s this ?? A Message box pops up saying something like “Fatal Error”. Its Hellish, ain’t it ?? What do you do ??

Solution contd…: This is the follow up to my previous post. While the above error appears when you try to run the game, sometimes the error pops up after you have properly run the game and completed a fair percentage of the story-line. You have gone through my previous post but DirectX is already updated and the solution does not work. so what do you do ??  Unfortunately, the answer is simple but not easy.

Another Kaspersky Giveaway plus something more

Inspired by the success of TEDinator (TED Talks Downloader), like i said before, here is another giveaway and this time i’m giving away 5(yes five)  1-year licenses (Update : The licenses of Kaspersky Internet Security 2012) to my readers(Yes, it is great). and to get them, here’s what you have to do :

Mass unblock Files – remove “This file came from another computer…” warnings

Scenario : You have downloaded a file online and now whenever you try to run it, you get a security warning. You want to remove the notification from that file and a bunch of other files but do not want to do it one by one.

Solution : On Windows OS, you will find that when you download files to your local drive, they are not trusted until you go to properties and click the ‘Unblock’ button. This is OK for one or maybe two files but more than that and it goes into the “Micro$oft $ucks for not thinking about this feature” zone……and this happens to me more often than not. Usually, I download the usual libs and binaries from sites that I trust. I download it via my browser and open the files from within it, at this point I most likely dont know where the file was downloaded and if it was a zip where i had extracted it. So now if i’m stopped by windows at every step, I get really pissed at it because there is no simple way to unblock all files in a directory tree.

Google becomes more smart : gives Movie dates

You can already do plenty of calculations and conversions right in Google’s search box, and it looks like the company’s now made it even smarter still. Searching for the title of an upcoming movie or video game plus “release date” will now instantly give you Google’s best guess for when the title will actually be released ( which i guess is apparently based on how often it’s been mentioned on certain websites).

Searches for movie and video game release dates are now showing what Google thinks is the best answer based on info that it finds on various websites. As you can see in the image above, just use the name of the movie or game and add “release date” to the query to get search results like this. Google shows what it thinks the release date will be and also lists the sources it used.

TED V3.0 : The TEDinator

Sometime back…..I gave you a sneak preview of the new version of TED Downloader (is, has and always shall be free :)) which i was working on. I am happy to say that i have completed my work on it and now i can introduce you to the finished product, that is “The TEDinator” (I can never get tired of that :)).
