How To Download Ovi Store Apps To PC – 3 : The .sis.dm association

Scenario Contd.. : You own a Nokia Mobile Phone and want to download its apps for it but are unable to do so as the current GPRS rates are quite high. Also you would like to save the setup files as backup. So what do you do ??

Solution Contd.. : Now, If you have read my Previous Post, You already know how to download apps from the Ovi Store.

But now we are faced with a new Problem : If you download files using the method i previously described, then sometimes it will happen that you will have downloaded a file with the Extension .sis.dm. You have no idea how to use it

Don’t Worry!!! Here’s a way through.

First of all you will need Notepad++ for this method. Now, simply open the .sis.dm/.dm file with Notepad++. You will notice that first four lines are in readable text format, while the rest of the lines are unreadable.

For e.g., they will read something like this :

–boundary-1
Content-Type: x-epoc/x-sisx-app
Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary”

(There is an Empty Line here)

Delete these “readable” lines (also the spaces which means the 4th line too), but not “z” which is present at the start of the 5th line. Now go to the bottom of the page and delete the last line, which will read something like this “–boundary-1—“.

Save this file with .sis extension, send to your phone and go through the installation process.

Here’s a better pictorial representation :

The .sis.dm File

Saved as .sis File

Thats it….

Amazing trick!!! Huh ??? Anyways, Enjoy the various Games you download and do let me know if you encounter any problems.
