Combine Multiple Folders into One..

November 26, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Scenario : A music programme some how put all my music into individual folders. Is there anyway to get them back to how they were before. My itunes now cant find them and i can’t adjust my playlists.

Solution : A reader asked me this problem. So here is a simple way to solve the problem…..

Its a very simplle trick actually in which we will utilise the Windows Search Feature :

1. First make sure that all the divided Folders are under one single Folder.
2. Next go to that parent folder and press F3…..this will bring up the search panel in that Folder.
3. Search for ‘.mp3’ or ‘.mp4’ or whatever is the file extension applicable.

Note : If there are multiple formats involved, you can do a search for all simultaneously by separating them with commas in the searchbox term

4. When results are displayed, Press CTRL+A and Cut all.
5. Paste all of them to a Single Folder.

There that does it….simple and sweet and no externals tools required……:)

I’m Posting this bcos even though it seems like a very simple solution yet very few people will think of it and instead search for Expensive softwares(which many Idiots buy). Hope you do not try to think so much out of the box that you forget where the box is…hehehehe
